We are thrilled to tell you about an upcoming UCT alumni event in New York City with the Baxter Theatre! The Baxter Theatre’s production of The Fall is coming to St. Ann’s Warehouse in DUMBO, Brooklyn, and we have arranged a block of tickets for our alumni. For these tickets, admission is discounted and the ticket service fee has also be waived. This performance is on Sunday, March 25 at 5pm.

After the performance, there will be a reception in the St. Ann’s lobby, where you can meet the cast, mingle with your fellow alums, and enjoy some wine and nibbles. Tickets for the performance and reception are $50, which you can purchase here.

The Fall was a big winner at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a hit at London’s Royal Court, and focuses on the #RhodesMustFall movement. It lasts 80 minutes with no intermission. More about the play:

“The Fall was devised collaboratively by a cast of seven actors who recount their experiences as student leaders of the #RhodesMustFall protest movement, which called for the teardown of a colonialist monument on their University of Cape Town campus. Marshaling the power of protest songs and dance, The Fall unpacks discrimination in all forms, exposing the impact of inflammatory iconography, crushing student debt and tuition fees, shedding light on similar debates here in America. The Stage calls the show “a truly ensemble production which has both teeth and heart, and one which stands for student revolt around the world and down the ages.”

To take advantage of this special offer, you must purchase your tickets hereby 12:01am EST on Monday, March 12.

We hope you can join us for this exciting and thought-provoking performance, and connect with fellow UCT alumni here in the US.
